01 Sep Herban Feast Real Wedding: Emily & Cleve at Froggsong Gardens
Set amidst the meticulously manicured grounds of Froggsong Gardens on Vashon Island, Emily and Cleve gathered with their loved ones for this delightful outdoor Pacific Northwest wedding. The dusty sunset tones of their seasonal floral and decor paralleled the warmth and authenticity of their joyful, mid-summer celebration.
On the Menu
Emily and Cleve’s menu celebrated the flavors of the season. Appetizers included our bacon wrapped figs, strawberry brie bites, and our crowd pleasing signature sweet potato & Dungeness crab cakes. After our summer raspberry salad, the main course was served family-style featuring our popular citrus rubbed wild pacific king salmon, herb crusted tender beef loin, and cauliflower ‘cous cous’ stuffed bell peppers.
Fresh & Local
Classical roses, summery dahlias, and romantic ranunculus were paired with native greenery, to create stunning floral arrangements. Keeping it fresh and local- Herban Bloom used locally grown flowers from some of Vashon Island’s own farm stands- Handpicked Homestead, Olive Farm, and Alyssum Farm.
Amy Gilman, Lead Floral Design at Herban Bloom has this advice for newly engaged couples starting their planning journey, “don’t be afraid of colors!” She enjoyed working with the earthy pastels of terracotta, sage, and flax for this event- a fun change from the blush and white color palette that is popular with summer weddings.
