Falling in Love with I Do Sodo

February 2, 2017

We can’t wait to participate in the 2nd annual I Do Sodo wedding show next weekend! We’re so proud to be a part of the historic Sodo neighborhood and are delighted that there is finally a wedding show dedicated to the venues in this area.

This year’s show (taking place next Sunday, February 12th!) offers you a rare opportunity to tour Within Sodo, Westland Distillery, Kerloo Cellars, Metropolist, Canvas and Safeco Field, as well as our own Sodo Park and The Foundry venues. The best part of I Do Sodo is that each venue will be stylishly transformed by a team of Seattle’s top vendors – including a caterer, florist and musician – allowing you to fully visualize how the space would look on your big day.

Purchase your tickets for I Do Sodo here, and make sure to say hello and introduce yourself when you get to our venues!

An Off-Site Venue in our Neighborhood: An Inside Look at WithinSodo

August 31, 2016

We’re delighted to give you a peek inside one of our nearby off-site venues, WithinSodo! With an industrial feel and lots of versatility, WithinSodo can be transformed for a variety of event types—weddings to corporate celebrations to private parties.

WithinSodo_1

WithinSodo’s history began long before it was an event venue. In the past, it has been home to a warehouse, a metal shop and an industrial equipment sales location, to name a few.

Built with natural materials such as wood, metal and brick, WithinSodo’s foundation offers a warm industrial backdrop for any celebration.

Inside the venue are three different event spaces, as well as a kitchen and a stunning rooftop deck with city views. Each of WithinSodo’s event spaces are unique, while still tying into the venue’s industrial theme.

WithinSodo_4

The Ballroom’s rustic aesthetic, complete with wood ceilings and beautiful barn doors, is ideal for an intimate wedding or celebration.

WithinSodo_5

With beautiful wood paneling, exposed brick and low ceilings, The Lounge creates a warm environment that would be great for a social gathering or company party.

WithinSodo_3

Last but not least, The Gallery is an amazing, one-of-a-kind room with industrial and hip accents. Plus, check out the amazing gallery wall of mirrors!

WithinSodo_2

One of our favorite features that WithinSodo has to offer is the rooftop deck. With 3,000 sf. of space, you can take in the views of Seattle’s skyline while relaxing by the fire (or dancing the night away!)

Thank you WithinSodo for the tour of your beautiful venue! If you’re planning an event at WithinSodo send us a message at marketfresh@herbanfeast.com to discuss our off-site catering options.

Make sure to check out the full list of venues on the Eastside and in Seattle that we cater at! For more venue tours and inspiration, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.

3 Ideas for a Corporate Retreat

May 18, 2016

Our lives are so filled with so much brightness and revelry. On weekends we get to celebrate stunning and romantic weddings and during the weekdays we get to help companies celebrate success with summer BBQ’s, grow closer through retreats and off-sites, and build their business with sales and team-building sessions.

Is your company planning an off-site? If so, we’re sharing three ideas to make this year’s event your best yet!

corporate blog_1

1.Keep Moving

We’re not suggesting a game of musical chairs, but instead moveable spaces where you can give people a fresh perspective, keep them engaged, and transition easily from day to night. A venue that has a flexible floor plan allows your employees to switch mindsets without switching locations. You can host a business-focused session during the day, then seamlessly turn the same space into a fun evening event!

Expert tip: Pick a venue that has multiple spaces. This allows you to set up for the next part of the event without shuffling people outside or into a corner during the transition.

2. Lighten up

Say goodbye to the traditional buffet and box lunches and hello to an array of appetizers or a moveable feast. Light dishes mixed with fun cocktails gives a party feel and won’t leave your guests sluggish and hot. Plus, giving guests the opportunity to mingle around during the dinner hour allows for more conversation.

Expert tip: Is your company insistent on a sit-down dinner? To allow for the same conversation and mingling, have the dinner family style!

corporate blog_4

3. Debut a DJ (or other unexpected entertainment)

A corporate retreat is a great time to talk shop and do company planning, but it is also a chance for your employees to let loose and get to know one another outside of the office. Plan ahead and schedule entertainment! It could be a magician, a great DJ, or even something outside the box – like karaoke, a surprise guest speaker, or a scavenger hunt!

Need help planning your company’s retreat or off-site? Contact us at 206-932-4717 or marketfresh@herbanfeast.com. With full service event coordination, award-winning catering, and a variety of venues, we can help coordinate every aspect of your event.

Spring and Summer Event Inspiration from our Dual Open House

April 15, 2016

Our Sodo Park and The Foundry venues were enlivened with exquisite spring and summer décor and florals during last week’s Open House event. Thanks to our talented style and design team, both venues were transformed into wedding and special event ready settings, allowing guests to imagine how they would look during their own event.

Guests started the evening at The Foundry, where our Herban Design Studio and Herban Bloom team combined lush greenery, metallic accents, flicking candlelight and floral details for a romantic, modern feel.

TreeHouse Point owner, Pete Nelson, began his love affair with treehouses when he was just five years old, building his first treehouse with a few tools and his dad to guide him. In 2005, Pete purchased property near his own home in Fall City and began dreaming up plans for a tree-lined retreat. What started as one treehouse quickly grew into many more, transforming the space into the rare oasis it is today.

Seattle’s Eastside Venue Feature: A Tour inside the Stunning Bellevue Arts Museum

October 29, 2015

We are excited to take you inside one of our favorite Eastside venues,  Bellevue Arts Museum (BAM).

BAM_6

Located in downtown Bellevue, BAM was originally founded in 1947 and was moved and transformed several times before permanently settling into its current location in 2001. The museum’s building was designed by renowned architect, Steven Holl. A Washington native himself, Holl designed BAM using materials that would highlight the Pacific Northwest’s outdoor beauty, including glass, terraces and skylights.

Within the museum there are three distinct event spaces that are perfect for a wide range of events, from a cocktail hour on the Court of Light, to a board meeting in BAM’s Auditorium, to an elegant dinner in the Forum.

BAM_7

The Forum, located on the museum’s first floor, is at the very center of the building and has a two story high ceiling, making it a dramatic and elegant space perfect for a wedding reception or seated dinner. Amazing pieces of art and design add character to The Forum’s walls.

BAM_3

The second event space at the museum is The Court of Light, a large veranda located off of the third floor. The Court of Light is home to amazing large scale art pieces created by artists from all around the world, making it the perfect backdrop for a cocktail hour or sunset event.

BAM_1

BAM’s Auditorium space is a warm gathering spot for small-scale events. Its wood appearance and full audio/visual features make it perfect for meetings, presentations and intimate gatherings.

Thank you BAM for letting us take a look inside your beautiful location! A complete list of our off-site venues can be found here. Take a look at Herban Feast’s own venues on the blog here, here and here. Connect with us on FacebookTwitter and Pinterest!

Preparing for Stunning Fall and Winter Events at our Sodo Park & The Foundry Open Houses

October 15, 2015

Twice a year we transform our Sodo Park and The Foundry venues into themed sensations to showcase new seasonal décor and dishes.  This season, we hosted our open house events on one evening, allowing guests to experience the delight of both venues simultaneously.

Our Sodo Park venue’s rustic charm was enlivened with bright floral décor and pops of color, naturals and neutrals including wood accents and crisp white draping, and antique detailing including old-fashioned lanterns and gold accented vases.

The Foundry was styled as a romantic winter wonderland complete with a forest of twinkly lights, antique books as table décor, and wintery flowers. Bright metallic place settings, pillows and table coverings created a sparkling fairytale effect, off-set by bright white furniture and draping.
